         soDA: a swiss art magazine with an unique approach to every Issue. No. 28 was about an almost fictional
         travel through asia and the connections we built there. 4 covers, 128 pages, japanese binding, featuring
         over 100 artists.

Whilst studying at the University of art and design Zurich (HGKZ), we made this
invitation card for the annual college Degree Show 2003.

         The show exhibited graduationworks from twelve different courses. To represent
         such a large number of individual graduation works, we liked the idea of a
         minimal invitation design with a blanc front, just referring to the type printed
         on the back. The dot screen is embossed from the backside, comparable to the
         braille type, leaving blanc space where the type is printed.

         Sleeping Tokyo is a booklet i made after my first visit to Japan. The title Sleeping Tokyo
         is a reference to the atmosphere of the Pictures shown in the mag. Although i took
         them in Yokohama and Tokyo, the mood of these photograph's is peaceful and quiet,
         safe and sound.
         I guess this is because i've seen so many colourful and noisy pictures of Tokyo before
         i actually travelled there. So when i took my own pics, i tried to avoid that typical image
         of japanese cities.

Whilst most of the people on the Photo's are sleeping, the drawings point out a busier
part of the city image, people around popular shopping districts in Yokohama and Tokyo.

         we used simple shapes (deriving from the formats 7", 12" vinyl records and CD) to visualize
